“Reading this book with tears in my eyes. Thank you so much Rose for your beautiful writing. And thank you so much Techie for your beautiful life. Such a beautiful book. I loved every page."
"When you feel like the world has stopped spinning and life has become meaningless and hopeless, this book, An Entrepreneurial Wonder Woman, should be just the right pill for you. It is so moving and inspiring that any restless soul who reads it will see that life, with its challenges, failures, and misgivings, is undoubtedly still beautiful after all.
Rose, the author has vividly pictured how pure love for family, genuine corporate social responsibility, generosity at its finest and deep faith in God can build and rebuild people's lives. This book also aptly captures entrepreneurial acumen and the value of fraternal love, and brings to the fore the beauty and richness of the Filipino family, certainly a GEM to envy and behold!
Congratulations to Rose Isada-Cabrera, a Theresian and herself one with a Big Heart , for her successful first venture on writing . Her book should find a place in everyone's library, digital or otherwise. Certainly, there will be many more next's to come!"
"Pure and honest. This book is an ode to 'Teacher Techie' who successfully fulfilled her life's purpose. But more importantly, it is an ode to sisterhood and the gift of family. I was smiling from ear to ear as I read through these pages."
"An inspiring and motivating biography. The world needs more role models like Techie. It is rare and refreshing to read a book with a strong, powerful Asian heroine. But while the Philippines is integral to Techie's own story, hers is a life that women everywhere can aspire to emulate. I raced through it in one evening, and was itching to get back to work the next day and start putting her life lessons into practice (but not, as Techie teaches, without a good night's sleep first!)"
"A very heartfelt tribute from the author, an entrepreneurial Wonder Woman herself, to her trailblazing big sister.
This book is an inspiring and useful read for anyone, male or female and of any nationality. It provides great lessons on leadership, accountability, perseverance, and compassion, all delivered through a truly uplifting story.”
"This book is very close to my heart. Having personally experienced the wonderful, caring, hospitable and incredibly resilient human nature of Filipinas, this book once again has taken me, during a much needed time, into the world of hope, life and the importance of never giving up on each other. Beautifully depicted by Rose, it was a journey in which I have submerged myself through her magical words. One we must all experience."
"As a logistics professional myself, hearing about how Techie set off for a mission, the journey itself, but even more so, how she tackled the challenges, gives me goosebumps.
The book presents a well written story about Techie, the Super Woman, who gives hope for other 'ordinary' people to perform extraordinary accomplishments, without sacrificing friend and family bond, and without losing touch with the humane side, which we, regardless of nationality, all have in common. I am so impressed with this book."
"A sincere and beautiful love letter from one sister to another. While Rose takes us on a journey through Techie's life, challenges, and achievements, her storytelling is revealing of the profound admiration and respect that she nurtures for her older sister. Her book offers an insightful and privileged look into the story of a brave Filipino woman."
"This is the incredible story of Techie, a truly admirable woman overcoming so many challenges, from almost failing school to graduating top of her class and attending the most prestigious university in the Philippines, to setting up a company on her own, to overcoming challenges in her personal life.
Reading about her cheerful and positive approach to every challenge she encountered was truly inspirational and a great reminder for me that in life, the glass is always half full!"
"'An Entrepreneurial Wonder Woman' is bursting with loving insight to a hardworking, successful Filipino family. Rose gives a warm account of her sister and her achievements, while encouraging us all to find our own 'gem within'.
If you want to know more about Filipino culture, family life, and some of the struggles and successes for the modern Filipino family, look no further.
I cannot endorse enough my belief that more Filipino women should write and share their rich experiences and stories for the rest of the world to know. "
“Although the author, Rose Cabrera, could have told her own inspiring life story as an entrepreneurial Wonder Woman, she rather chose to tell the one of her beloved big sister Techie, a true heroine who never gave up and successfully faced all the different challenges of life.
This book is about strong women, leadership, social responsibility, humanity and family, and reflects to me the positivity and braveness of the Filipino nation. It was a great pleasure to read this book!”
"Everything about this book is inspirational. It’s light-hearted and an easy read, but at the same time it leaves a profound challenge to seek a life of passion, kindness, integrity, and purpose. As much as it’s an intimate family memoir, it’s also a timely tribute to the Filipino diaspora and manifesto of love for the motherland."
“It is a timely book, demonstrating the transcendence of Filipina/Asian giftedness in a challenging time. And the giftedness is one of action born of wisdom and courage.".

“'An Enterpreneurial Wonder Woman' is a loving tribute to successful Filipina businesswoman Techie Gutierrez, written by her younger sister Rose Cabrera. It chronicles their journey to America as an immigrant family, then zooms in on the struggles and victories that resulted in beautiful lessons learned from the life of Techie, founder of ABEST Express (a courier service company) and EXL Filmart (specialty shops with Philippine-made products). It’s a biographical memoir of a remarkable woman who chooses to live a life that matters, every day.”
I finished the book over a round trip on the Metro from New Haven to Grand Central and back!
What an amazing life Techie has led and continues to lead. The author Rose is right that entrepreneurial Filipinas are many time overshadowed by our men, nurses and OFWs in general.
There are many lessons I take from reading about your sister. One that has stuck with me is the one that talks about better to love than be right.
And At my age (73), I am still wondering what is my life’s purpose. But perhaps it is in the curiousity about things and people and in the learning from such encounters that one gets fulfillment.
It would be nice if one day I could meet your sister. It would be an honor to learn from her.
Do continue bringing out stories of other admirable Filipina entrepreneurs!
"This is the inspiring story of a woman of competence and daring. Coming from the Philippines, Techie grew a business in the U.S. amidst tough competition. She then decided to leave a successful and comfortable life to become an entrepreneur and build businesses in the Philippines and Cambodia, because she wanted to make a difference.
As told by her admiring sister, Rose, it is also a story of family – with its joys and sacrifices, its triumphs and failures. Perhaps that is what I will remember best. For me, Techie is a Wonder Woman for her business and entrepreneurial success, yes, but even more for her caring for family and for those working with her, caring for and forgiving them when they fail her. Her story reminds us of what in life matters most."
“As a young Filipina who grew up in a Gawad Kalinga community without privilege and as someone who is seeking her purpose in life, reading the biography of Techie inspired me and instilled in me a great heart. Her significant experiences motivate me to become a wonder woman just like her. Techie is a life-changer for many people, I am blessed to read this book.
Thank you so much po for sharing your life. I realized many things and learned many lessons that I know I could use!”
"I had mixed emotions - tears in my eyes, smile on my lips - while reading the book. Thank you Rose, for sharing Techie's amazing life story and giving us a glimpse of your family's too! Truly inspirational. Very easy read, I actually finished it in one go. Looking forward to Rose's next book."
"The author is just gifted to see the gift in others, particularly in her sister., Techie, who from what Islam preaches, embodies the Sunnah (tradition of the Prophet Mohammad), 'None of you will have faith till he wishes for his brother what he likes for himself.' Indeed, Techie lives not to enrich herself but to fulfill a life’s purpose- to serve others.
What I love about this book is the captivating portrayal of Techie’s enormous kindness, of not getting tired of helping and making people see their optimum capacity. Some people abuse your kindness (I can relate) but when your kindness is abused, it is not about you after all, it is about never getting tired of helping others.
I love Techie’s smiles behind the pain and the strength of her character. Amidst those pains is her ability to heal the wounds of others despite her very own wounds."
"Inspiring. In a world today that's looking to be uplifted, Techie's life of purpose despite the challenges faced as narrated by Rose is real, dramatic, and most of all inspiring.
The way the author used Michael Josephson's 'What Will Matter' poem was very well done. Congratulations!"
